Two Georgia Officers Recovering Following Shooting in Forest Park

FOREST PARK, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A suspect is dead after two police officers were shot in Forest Park Wednesday.

Police say they were responding to a call of a man driving recklessly on a motorcycle on Mitchell Street near a school.

Officers say once the suspect got off the motorcycle and ran behind a house, he began to fire shots at police.

Forest Park Police says an officer is expected to be okay while another went into surgery and is listed in critical condition.

The suspect who has not been identified was found dead behind the home. Authorities are not saying how he died.
