2025 Cherry Blossom Festival generates $6.5 million economic impact for Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Cherry Blossom Festival announced that the 2025 event generated a $6.5 million economic impact for the city of Macon.
The festival took place March 21–30 and made a significant financial impact on the local economy and community, according to data from Visit Macon.

35.1% of total spending came from out-of-town visitors

41,287 visitors traveled from more than 50 miles away

“This data highlights how Macon’s tourism industry and the Cherry Blossom Festival not only drive economic growth, but foster cultural exchange and community pride,” said Gary Wheat, president and CEO of Visit Macon. “The ongoing enhancement of the festival is a collaborative achievement, supported by our community, local businesses and visitors alike.”
Cherry Blossom Festival President and CEO Stacy Moore added, “We were thrilled to share the ‘Pinkest Party on Earth’ with our Macon-Bibb community and to welcome visitors from near and far.”
Moore adds “The continued increase in attendance from individuals traveling more than 50 miles to join us is a strong testament to the festival’s growing impact—not only locally, but across the region and the state,” Moore said. “We are proud of this accomplishment and excited to build on our success with world-class programming and unforgettable experiences for the entire family.”
The 2026 Cherry Blossom Festival is scheduled for March 20–29.
