2015 GSHF inductees honored during jacket ceremony
Before the official ceremony, the inductees received their jackets tonight. All of the inductees tell 41NBC they are excited and honored to join the elite group.
Macon’s Bobby Hendley is part of the 2015 class. He is a former pitcher at Lanier High School who played in the major leagues and coached at the high school level. He will join former Georgia Tech defensive lineman William Fulcher, former UGA basketball player Alex Kessler, former UGA running back Willie McClendon, former U.S. Golf Association President Reg Murphy, UGA gymnast Hope Spivey, 1993 Heisman Trophy winner and NBA star Charlie Ward, and Braves’ President John Schuerholz.
Schuerholz tells 41NBC he is excited to join the new class.
“This is a great roster. You look at the people who’ve earned their way into this great Hall of Fame and what they have accomplished in their lives, and to be invited to join this group, I’m especially honored and proud,” he said.
Fan Fest is going on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. You can meet the inductees as well as other members of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Macon City Auditorium.
