20 Years of Fried Green Tomatoes

Juliette is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the filming of “Fried Green Tomatoes.” A Festival kicks off Saturday to celebrate the success of the small southern town in Monroe County. Festival organizers and owners of Verna Coras, Ladonna Olivieri and Angela Pless, joined us on 41NBC at 6pm with your invite.

You’re invited to head down to McCrackin Street Saturday (10am) and Sunday (11am-5pm) for food, music, shopping, movies and more! Saturday at 8:30pm you can watch “Fried Green Tomatoes” and enjoy a box dinner from the Whistle Stop Café….bring your lawn chairs and blankets!

The ladies say the film crews that rolled into town 20 years ago turned Juliette around and is responsible for making it the successful southern town it is today!

If you can’t make it out this weekend, remember the annual “Fried Green Tomatoes” festival is coming up in October!  The people of Juliette and of course those fried green tomatoes (try them with ranch) will keep you coming back for more!
