$2.5 Million lottery scratch-off sold in Sandersville

The Georgia Lottery says the top-prize-winning Millionaire Jumbo Bucks scratcher was purchased at Busy Bee, located at 703 South Harris Street in Sandersville.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Someone in Middle Georgia is $2.5 million richer after a winning Georgia Lottery scratch-off ticket was sold in Sandersville.

The winner claimed the $2.5 million prize Wednesday, August 26.

The winning ticket is one of several big lottery prizes recently claimed across Georgia. The Georgia Lottery says players claimed more than $38.7 million in winnings from scratch-off games last week.

In addition to the Sandersville prize, a Covington resident won $50,000 playing the VIP Elite Diggi Game through the Georgia Lottery mobile app on August 25.

According to the Georgia Lottery, proceeds from its scratch-off games and Diggi Games help fund education programs across Georgia, including the HOPE Scholarship and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.

The Georgia Lottery says it has returned more than $31.3 billion to the state for education since its launch.

Players must be at least 18 years old to purchase or play Georgia Lottery games.
