17-year-old arrested after vehicle pursuit ends with crash at residence

The driver has been identified as 17-year-old Andrew Howard.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection with a theft by taking auto investigation that happened Friday afternoon.

Deputies spotted a vehicle reported stolen traveling west on Jeffersonville Road just before 12:30 p.m. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop.

The driver left the roadway at the intersection of Madison Street striking the exterior steps of a residence within the 100 block of Madison Street. The suspect then fled on foot towards a cemetery nearby where deputies were able to arrest him.

The driver has been identified as 17-year-old Andrew Howard. Howard faces charges of two counts of felony theft by taking auto, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, felony fleeing and eluding, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He currently does not have a bond.
