13-year-old dead after being struck by minivan in Gray

GRAY , Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 13-year-old girl is dead after being struck by a minivan Saturday, according to Jones County Deputy Coroner Wayne Grier.

The fatal accident occurred at 6:58 p.m. on March 8 in the 200 block of Eatonton Highway in Gray.

Deputies found 13-year-old Rylee Baird at the scene, where she had been struck by a minivan. Grier confirmed the driver stopped, and it was not a hit-and-run. Baird had been walking with two others, but they were not injured.

Grier said Atrium EMS and Jones County Rescue worked to save Baird, but she was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m.
