11 inmates stabbed during altercation at Dooly State Prison

GDC says nine inmates were taken to local hospitals, and two were life-flighted for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. 

UNADILLA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –Mutiple inmates at Dooly State Prison were taken to hospitals on Friday, after an altercation inside the prison.

According to a press release sent by the Georgia Department of Corrections, a total of 11 inmates were hurt after “an altercation occurred between several inmates.”

The release says after assessments by facility medical staff, “11 offenders require outside medical treatment for injuries sustained during the altercation”.

GDC says nine inmates were taken to local hospitals, and two were life-flighted for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
