1 dead, 1 injured in Wrightsville shooting

Police say law enforcement found two victims with injuries and that both were rushed to the hospital. They say one of the victims later died. No word on the condition of the second victim.

WRIGHTSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting Friday afternoon in Wrightsville.

According to a Facebook post by the Wrightsville Police Department, officers along with Johnson County deputies were called to the scene of a shooting in the area of South Marcus Street near Pine Terrace Apartments around 4:45 p.m.

Police say that’s where law enforcement found two victims with injuries. Both were rushed to the hospital.They say one of the victims later died.

No word on the condition of the second victim.

Police ask that residents be cautious in the area due to law enforcement vehicles and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents processing the scene.
