1 dead, 1 injured after fatal crash in Crawford County

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office received a call about an auto accident involving two pedestrians between Hays Farm Road and the Monroe and Crawford County Line.

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman is dead after a fatal crash on Monday, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal crash happened around 7:18 P.M. on December 16 on Highway 42 North. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an auto accident involving two pedestrians between Hays Farm Road and the Monroe and Crawford County Line.

When deputies arrived, they found a 28-year-old woman who had died from her injuries.

The 24-year-old pedestrian was transported to a hospital in Macon for his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Brittaney Nicole McDowell of Atlanta.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Georgia State Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
