Houston County schools resume with adjusted start times after tornado warning
Morning bus routes have resumed, but all schools will open 30 minutes later than their normal schedule, the district said.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Houston County School District lifted a tornado warning Wednesday morning and announced that school operations will resume with adjusted start times due to earlier weather disruptions, according to a news release.
Morning bus routes have resumed, but all schools will open 30 minutes later than their normal schedule, the district said.
Middle schools will begin classes at 8 a.m., high schools at 8:30 a.m. and elementary schools at 9 a.m., according to the district’s alert.
Officials said they are aware that routines were disrupted by the severe weather and will excuse morning tardies for students affected by the delay.
“We thank you for your support as we work together to keep our students and staff safe,” the district added.
