According to a news release, on December 1, a mother said she received a text message about her child selected to go to an out-of-county football game. The person said they were with the Laurens County School System. That morning a woman picked up the child and returned her around 8:30pm on the same day. The mother says her child told her what happened the following day.

During an interview, deputies say the child reported the female took her to a vehicle away from the home. They got into another vehicle with a man, and they took her to an unknown location. The child reported the male touched her inappropriately. And the female was in the location during the time of the incident.

An investigation revealed the story about the field was false. And neither suspect worked with the Laurens County School System.

This incident is still under investigation.
