Florence is now just a few days away from making landfall and the latest forecast track could bring tropical storm conditions to parts of Middle Georgia.
The latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center now includes much of the Middle Georgia area by Sunday. This is based on a few new model runs, but be aware that this can and likely will change through the rest of the week. Regardless, now would be the time to make a plan with your family in the case of severe/tropical weather.
In the case that Florence does head closer to Middle Georgia, we could see sustained winds of 30-40 mph on Sunday.
We could also see a significant amount of rainfall, once again all depending on the track of the storm. The heaviest rain, however, is expected to stay along the Carolina coast where some areas could see over 30″ of rain.
We will continue to watch as the forecast comes together with this storm, but regardless now is the time to be prepared.
