WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm is starting the week with a big honor.
The Warner Robins native has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week after his performance in the Bulldogs’ 38-7 win over Georgia Tech.
Fromm matched a career-high 75% completion rate on 12-for-16 passing for 224 yards and two touchdowns against the Yellow Jackets. He’s now third in the SEC in pass efficiency with a 167.7 following Saturday’s performance, which included a career-long 78-yard touchdown strike to junior Ahkil Crumpton.
Fromm helped make the Bulldogs the 10th team in school history to tally at least 11 wins in a season and the first since 2012.
It’s the Bulldogs’ eighth SEC weekly honor this season.
