Arrests made after shootout in Macon


MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two suspects are in custody following a shootout in south Macon. Deputies were called to an address on Houston Ave for reports of shots fired. When they arrived on the scene, the deputies were advised that two men were exchanging gunfire. Deputies got a description of the vehicle one of the suspects was driving, and when they saw it, they attempted to pull the vehicle over.

The driver attempted to elude police, but abandoned his vehicle after a brief chase and fled on foot near Rocky Creek Rd. Deputies say that the suspect fired his gun in their direction while he fled.

The driver, 36-year-old Deandre Williams, was apprehended by deputies and taken into custody.

The second suspect was identified as 17-year-old Dequavious Howard. He was taken into custody near the scene. Both suspects were transported to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center and charged with Aggravated Assault.
