MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – There was celebration being held for Bibb county schools on Thursday.
Leadership development will now be integrated into every Bibb County elementary and middle schools, thanks to a $2.1 million goal was met by community and business leaders.
These schools will be part of ‘The Leader in Me’ program which provides best in class content and concepts practiced by education though leaders.
“Our students will now know how to learn to demonstrate strength of character. We say that’s our vision for them but now we have a tool, a framework for making that happen,” Bibb County Schools Superintendent Dr. Curtis Jones.
Guided by Steven Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’, Leader In Me is a whole child paradigm that teaches values and principles to students.
Eight schools are part of the leader in me program now. The district plans on added 12 more to that list by next year.
