WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two friends are celebrating a perfect health inspection score at their new coffee shop and cafe in Warner Robins.

“We want that community feel where everyone is welcome and everyone is invited and we just want to make people feel like they’re our friends,” co-owner Victoria Hawkins said.

Considering Between Friends Coffeeshop & Cafe on Hwy. 96 in Warner Robins is built on friendship, it’s peaceful inside.

“It’s basically like visiting a friend’s house, you come hang out, bring a book, a laptop,” Hawkins said. “Bring nothing at all and just talk to us and enjoy a meal.”

Just because its peaceful doesn’t mean it isn’t busy. Victoria Hawkins and Jaimie Miller put together a big menu with breakfast and lunch food and lots of drink choices.

“She wanted a restaurant and a bakery and I love coffee so it just kind of came together, it just happened, between friends,” Hawkins and Miller said.

First, let’s take a look at your scores this week:

Atlanta Bread Company on Watson Blvd – 92

Firehouse Subs on Watson Blvd – 86

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Lake Joy Rd – 100

Hibachi Express on Hwy 96 – 89

Wendy’s on Moody Rd – 92

Old Clinton Bar-B-Que on Gray Hwy – 99

Dunkin Doughnuts on N. Lee St – 87

Huddle House on Roberson Mill Rd – 80

Lockett’s Country Cooking on Main St – 93

Hawkins and Miller’s friendship goes back a ways.

“We met through Southside as co-leaders of the middle school ministry,” Hawkins said.

They are definitely making Between Friends, their own – menu items are named with famous authors and books line the coffee shop.

“So I was an English major and I just love to read and it kind of came from there,” Hawkins said.

“We love to trip people up and say ‘do you want to go with your favorite flavor or favorite author,” Miller said. “Hopefully they’ll mesh sometimes.”

Between Friends sells a wide range of food, including an award-winning cinnamon roll and Miller’s grandma’s chicken salad. Hawkins and Miller are also making sure customers don’t have to worry about the place being dirty by racking up a perfect health inspection score.

“Basically just paying attention to the details, kind of following that don’t do to others what you don’t want done to you,” Hawkins said. “Make sure everything is as clean as possible.”

So if customers swing by, they’ll come back.

“Whether you pass through one time or a hundred times you’re going to remember us, in a good way hopefully,” Miller said.
