DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A restaurant in Dublin is making sure that if you stop in, you get the “real deal” of Mexican food. Stepping into La Joya off Veterans Blvd is like stepping into Mexico!
“We mostly make the food the same way we eat it on the streets in Mexico,” Co-owner Yadiva Delgado said. “We’re trying to bring it to Dublin.”
The Delgado’s use teamwork and family values to serve fresh food and keep the place clean.”
“We’re a small business so it’s like a family, everybody works together,” Delgado said.
First let’s take a look at your scores this week:
KFC on Shurling Dr. – 97
Mr. E’s Sports Bar and Grill on Houston Rd – 87
Starbucks on Tom Hill Sr Blvd – 93
Waffle House on Arkwright Rd – 81
Logan’s Roadhouse on Watson Blvd – 100
Moe’s on Watson Blvd – 92
Sonny’s Real Pit Bar B Q on St. Patrick Dr – 95
Yoder’s Sandwich Shoppe on Sunset Ave – 100
Gringo’s on W Hancock St – 90
Long Horn’s Steakhouse on N Columbia St – 95
Good scores this week.
La Joya isn’t knocking Tex Mex food, but authentic Mexican is hard to beat.
“We have the real deal tacos, corn tortillas your choice of meat, cilantro and onions, we always bring hot sauce and limes to your table,” Delgado said. “The other food is great, but it’s Tex Mex so its a big difference between flavors and meat and everything.”
And to keep the place clean at La Joya, it takes love.
“[The health inspectors] look mostly at everything in the kitchen areas so I’m not gonna put this on me only, most of that is the kitchen,’ Delgado said.
