MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Driving ten minutes south of Macon down Broadway you cannot miss Tucker’s BBQ. After all, it’s been around for 70 years. Two things they pride themselves on, good people and good food, and of course the added perk of a perfect health inspection score.
“My mamma and daddy started it after World War II,” Tommy Tucker, the owner said. “I’ve got people I’ve been knowing all my life.”
It’s 70 years of consistency, both in people and in food, that keeps customers coming back.
“Almost now six generations of people, when they had kids, and they had kids, and they have kids, we have a lot of proliferation in Macon, Georgia,” Tucker said.

What Tucker’s may lack in attractiveness, it sure gains in charm.
“This is picture of what kids have sent me, and when they come back in here, they want to see what they’ve done,” Tucker said.
And when they come back, they’re coming for some of that good food.
“Barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks and rib plates and chicken plates,” Tucker said. “We’ll fix anything you want it if we can.”
And it’s certainly not the first time Tucker’s has scored a 100 on the health inspection, and by the looks of it, won’t be the last.
Tucker’s Barbecue is making the grade this week.
