Macon-Bibb County 911 operator arrested for aiding a wanted felon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon-Bibb county 911 operator was arrested for allegedly trying to help a wanted felon.
        Jeremy Ryan Allen is charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon.

        According to the arrest warrant, a tipster called the Macon-Bibb County 911 center to give information on the whereabouts of a wanted felon, Darrell Greg Winn Jr.
        The arrest warrant says allen used his personal cell phone to call Winn. He is also accused of calling a tipster from a 911 center "ghost" number, to get more information about her to give to Winn.

        “The female witness and her boyfriend wrote sworn statements saying that Mr. Winn contacted them stating, “Who called the police from (the witnesses) cell phone, that his friend (the accused) told him it was a female,” according to the arrest warrant.

        The warrant added that on Nov. 13, Winn posted on his Facebook page, “he had ran from police and (the accused) was supposed to pick him up.”

        Allen was released from the Bibb County Jail on a $3,700 bond, Monday.
