Groundhog Day Will Feel More Like Easter Sunday!

Happy Groundhog Day to you!

I'll say that this is without a doubt one of my favorite days of the year. Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow this morning, which unfortunately means six more weeks of Winter...but wait! There's another groundhog (In fact, there are a lot of furry meteorologists running around!) and he's countering Phil...

Our very own Southern gentleman, General Beauregard Lee out of Lilburn, did NOT see his shadow, which would indicate that we've got an early Spring on our hands.

Either way, it hasn't felt very Winter-like this Winter and no matter what Phil says, Spring is here for today!

Highs on your Thursday will return to the lower 70s, as weak high pressure takes control of the Deep South. Overcast skies this morning will become mostly sunny this afternoon.

You may find that it's a little breezy for your Groundhog Day though. Winds will be from the northwest around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

We remain dry and mostly clear for tonight, as lows cool to the mid 40s. (If you're wondering, our overnight lows should actually be in the mid to upper 30s this time of the year.)

Temperatures cool back into the upper 60s for tomorrow, so your Friday won't be quite as warm as today.

Expect partly sunny skies with breezy conditions for your last day back to work.
