Woman shot while walking down South Macon street

Bibb deputies are searching for a man who they say shot a Macon woman early Friday morning.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb deputies are searching for a man who they say shot a Macon woman early Friday morning.

According to Lt. Sean DeFoe, the incident happened around 5:20 a.m. near Greenleaf and Pinedale Drives.

DeFoe tells 41NBC 22-year-old Jamesia Clay was walking to the store several blocks from her home when a brown Buick carrying four men pulled up next to her.

They told her to get in the car and she refused. DeFoe says that is when one of the men shot her in the leg.

Clay walked back home and called law enforcement. She was sent to the hospital and released around 7:30 a.m.
