MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Two Bibb County men are wanted for allegedly stealing more than $12,000 in insurance fraud checks.

A news release from State Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says 41-year-old Patrick Dixon and 53-year-old William Scruggs are charged with 23 counts of insurance fraud and 23 counts of forgery.

Scruggs owns the Diamond Auto Painting shop on Broadway Road in Macon where everything allegedly took place.

According to the release, Dixon, a former Nationwide insurance claims adjuster, made several fake auto repair claims against legitimate Nationwide insurance customers' claims.

He'd issue checks to the paint shop, where Scruggs would cash those checks and split the money with Dixon.
