Warner Robins Voters Cast Ballots in Runoff Election

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Warner Robins voters are casting their ballots in the runoff election for mayor and the post one city council seat.

The rainy weather didn't stop voters from coming out to the Warner Robins Recreation Department Tuesday morning. A steady flow of residents quickly checked in and cast their ballots.

The race for mayor is between Joe Musselwhite and Randy Toms. Currenty Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen and incumbent Mike Daley are in the race for the Post 1 City Council seat.

More than 1,500 voters cast their ballots early. 41NBC caught up with voters who say its their duty to pick the best people to run the city.

"Everyone should know its very, very important to vote," Lucille Little said. "If you don't vote, then you don't fuss."

"We have a change of mayor. We could have a change of policies," David Shea said. "I think moving forward we need to keep taxes down and crime down."

Polls are open until 7 p.m. 41NBC will have elections results during the News at 11.
