Tattnall Square Trojans moving to GHSA in 2014

In this edition of the Coaches' Corner, Bill Shanks talks with Clint Morgan, second-year head coach of the Tattnall Trojans.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Last year, Tattnall head coach Clint Morgan had big shoes to fill, replacing former long-time head coach Barney Hester. After finishing 2013 with an 8-3 record, the Trojans hope for continued progress as they move into the Georgia High School Association.

"We don't really measure success by wins and losses as coaches," Coach Morgan said about his first season at Tattnall.  "I was very pleased with the way the players responded to me and to the system."

The school will have seven players returning on offense, but they'll have to replace their starting quarterback. Coach Morgan isn't worried.  He says two prime candidates are battling for the role, including defensive star Kell Jarriel.

The defense will also have seven players returning.  Morgan believes such experience will help as his team goes up against different opponents in their new division.  "We have a great nucleus coming back... it's the perfect timing for us [moving into the GHSA]."

Tattnall's first game will be August 29 against Georgia Military College.
