MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GC ATHLETICS RELEASE) – The Georgia College women’s basketball program and head coach Maurice Smith are proud to announce the addition of former player Abby Slocumb as graduate assistant coach.

“We are excited about the addition of Abby Slocumb to our coaching staff,” said coach Smith. “It’s always a great pleasure when we can add a former player to our staff. Abby was a four-year starter for our program because she was a very intelligent player who we could always trust on the basketball court. She had a strong work ethic and was always coachable.”

“She represents what a true student athlete should be, someone who works hard on the floor in the classroom and finishes with a college degree as well as leaving an indelible mark in our program. Abby will be involved in recruiting, on the floor coaching, and skill development of our post players. She will do a terrific job for us. ”

Slocumb was a four-year starter for the Bobcats from 2010-2014. She holds the second slot for career blocks with 112. During her senior season she totaled 47 blocks, landing her fourth in the individual season record blocks. Slocumb graduated with a degree in psychology in May 2014.
