Northside loses starting QB for opener

Projected starting quarterback Jurmon Weaver had an emergency appendectomy this week, according to head coach Kevin Kinsler.
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Northside High School will be without its projected starting quarterback in Friday's season opener.

Jurmon Weaver will not play against the Warriors after having an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday, according to head coach Kevin Kinsler.  Weaver was recently picked as the starter after a three-way battle that lasted through the summer.

Tobias Oliver, a sophomore, will fill in for Weaver.

"He's ready to go," Kinsler tells 41NBC. He's got plenty of reps.  He'll do fine."

The Eagles meet Auburn QB commit Tyler Queen and North Cobb Friday in 'The Endzone' Game of the Week.  Kickoff is at 7:30 from McConnell-Talbert Stadium.
