More than 100 Palestinians killed in four-day Israeli offensive

The number of Palestinians killed in Israel's massive air campaign in Gaza is now over 100.

JERUSALEM (AP) — The number of Palestinians killed in Israel's massive air campaign in Gaza is now over 100.

One airstrike today hit the home of a well-known Islamic Jihad leader. In the southern Gaza city of Rafah, residents sifted through the remains of a four-story building that was hit, and scattered for cover as another airstrike landed nearby.

Meanwhile, rocket fire from Gaza into southern and central Israel continues, with some of the rockets aimed toward Israel's international airport. Those rockets, and others aimed at Tel Aviv, were intercepted by Israel's missile defense system.

Gaza militants have fired more than 550 rockets against Israel since the Israeli offensive began earlier this week. The Israeli military says it has hit more than 1,100 targets. It says most were rocket-launching sites.

For the first time in the fighting, militants struck from neighboring Lebanon. Rocket fire struck in northern Israel, near the Lebanese border, and the military responded with artillery fire toward the source of the attack in southern Lebanon.
