Monday Marks Deadline for Voter Registration in Georgia

MIDDLE GEORGIA (41NBC/WMGT) – Monday is the final day to register to vote in the state of Georgia for November elections. This year is considered an "off-cycle" year which means a variety of local public offices are on the ballots.

In Warner Robins, Randy Toms, Joe Musselwhite, Daron Lee, Michael Brashear, Chuck Chalk, Mike Daley and Eva Folse are running to replace current mayor Chuck Shaheen. In Fort Valley, the current mayor John Stumbo is up against city council member Barbara Williams and in Ivey, newcomer Daniel Pope is competing to unseat mayor Ann Evans. The races also include city council posts in Byron, Centerville, Fort Valley, Ivey and Warner Robins.

Early voting in Houston County is from October 15-November 1. In Peach and Wilkinson counties, early voting in from October 14-November 1. To vote in person, Georgia residents to show photo identification. Election day is counties is on November 5.
