Milledgeville hosts its first film festival

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Hollywood is coming to Milledgeville! This weekend the city is hosting its first ever film festival. Jeremiah Bennett stopped by 41 Today to tell us all about the movie magic.

The First Annual Milledgeville Film Festival is a three day event taking place in downtown Milledgeville. The weekend will be packed with film screenings, events, and after parties.

There will be a red carpet gala in the historic Magnolia ballroom Friday night. The event features keynote speaker Stevie Lynn Jones, star of NBC's “Crisis.”

There will be workshops, screen showings, and fun throughout the event.

Bennett said this event will benefit the city of Milledgeville. He told 41NBC most of the hotels in the area are already booked and the restaurants and shops are gearing up for the huge crowd.
