Mercer baseball's game against Georgia Tech postponed

Mercer (31-10) was set to play host to Georgia Tech (25-16) Tuesday at Claude Smith Field, but rain intervened.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Mercer's baseball team was hoping for a season sweep of Georgia Tech Tuesday, but mother nature intervened.

The game between the Bears (31-10) and Yellow Jackets (25-16) was set to start at 6 p.m., but early afternoon showers forced a delay. Despite the rain the original plan was to still get the game in, but just before 7 p.m. the school announced the game was called off.

An announcement on whether the game will be rescheduled is expected Wednesday morning.

Mercer currently leads the Atlantic Sun Conference standings.  The Bears' next scheduled game is Friday at Florida Gulf Coast.
