MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man wanted in connection with a shooting at a Macon apartment complex turned himself into authorities Sunday night.
According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Montez Quenshonderick Sands fired shots at Green Meadows Apartments off Log Cabin Drive Sunday evening.
Deputies say before the shooting, 19-year-old Rodney Roquemore and his friend 19-year-old Treavon Girtman went to the complex to visit Rodney's girlfriend, 20-year-old Shundrea Jordon. Authorizes say Sands, who is the father of Jordon's three-year-old daughter, arrived later.
Investigators say Sands pulled a semi-automatic pistol on Girtman in the parking lot, started yelling at him, and fired several shots. Girtman was hit in both legs just about the knees. Deputies say Sands then drove off and jumped his three-year-old daughter out of the car.
The sheriff's office says Sands turned himself into investigators Sunday night around 10 o'clock. He is charged with aggravated assault. Investigators determined that there was no child cruelty in this case.
