Macon man arrested in hit and run accident

Bibb deputies arrested a man accused of hitting a teenager with his car and then driving away.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Bibb deputies arrested a man accused of hitting a teenager with his car and then driving away.

According to a news release, the sheriff's office says 31-year-old Vince Carter Jr. hit a 13-yer-old teen on his bicycle Thursday night off Randall Road. He drove off before investigators arrived at the scene.

Carter's vehicle was later spotted at a car wash off Houston Avenue. There was damage on the front of the car.

Carter is charged with one count of hit and run, duty of driver to stop at or return to the scene of accident, one county of tampering with evidence, and one count of driving without a license.

According to Bibb jail records, he was released from jail Friday on a $4,900 bond.

The teen was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.
