Macon man arrested in Checkers robbery

Deputies arrested a man for a commercial robbery by snatching at Checkers on Pio Nono Ave.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrested 46-year old James Lee Crawford Sr. of Macon for robbery by snatching at the Checkers on Pio Nono Avenue just before 4:45 a.m. on Friday.

Deputies say Crawford opened the drive thru window, and took some cash from one of the registers and then ran off. The store manager attempted to stop him, but did not catch him.

Deputies released a BOLO and a patrol deputy spotted a suspect that matched his description on Ell Street. He was arrested and taken back to Checkers so the manager could identify him. He was positively identified.

He was taken to the Bibb LEC and is charged with 1 count of Robbery. Deputies also say this is Crawford's 8th arrest in Bibb County.
