The money will go toward continuing to rebuild the Lynmore Estates neighborhood in Macon.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - House by house, the Macon Area Habitat For Humanity is helping rebuild the Lynmore Estates neighborhood.

The group received $7,500 from AT&T and C&P Foods Friday morning.

Several blighted homes have been renovated in the neighborhood.

Macon-Bibb Commissioner Larry Schlesinger thinks this is another step toward bettering the city.

Donors say they hope the checks will help improve the neighborhood.

"Habitat for Humanity is transforming lives for our citizens," said State Rep. Allen Peake. "So we're proud to partner with them in a great effort. It's important to provide really good food for customers, but it's also important to get engaged in our community.

Peake says he is impressed with the transformation of the neighborhood so far.
