BONAIRE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - If you're looking for a good sub sandwich, middle Georgia doesn't disappoint.
But if you want a good sandwich from an organization who gives back to the community, dip in to Larry's Giant Subs in Bonaire. The restaurant chain, based out of Jacksonville, Florida, has a mission to give back to each local community where they have set up shop.
In Bonaire's restaurant, sports teams, school kids, and pretty much any non-profit organization can come into the restaurant, and set up a fundraiser night.
"They get 10% of total sales for those two hours, and we give free drinks for the purchase of each sale," Brandi Ward explains. Ward is the Assistant Manager for the local branch.
Ward says the main groups who set up fundraisers, are school kids and their teachers, trying to earn some cash for their classroom. It's an effort the crew at Larry's, fully suports.
"You always want to be able to help out others. And if you're in a position to help somebody, you should help them out," Ward says.
Larry's also gives discounts to teachers, as a way to say thank you for giving to the community.
"It's always good to give back to the people who give to us by coming in here."
To get more information about setting up a fundraising night, just head to Larry's Giant Subs on Highway 96 in Bonaire. And be sure to get bite to eat.
