Judge grants Gordon citizens' request, issues second restraining order against Whipple-Lue

The Concerned Citizens of Gordon went before a judge in Emanuel County to file their second application to restrain Mayor Mary Ann Whipple-Lue.
SWAINSBORO, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -  Swainsboro Judge Robert S. Reeves granted a second restraining order against Gordon Mayor Mary Ann Whipple-Lue.

The Concerned Citizens of Gordon asked the Court of Appeals to reconsider the decision to lift the initial restraining order that suspended Whipple-Lue from office and barred her from conducting business on behalf of the city.

More than 15 members of the group showed up for the public hearing at the Emanuel County Courthouse in Swainsboro, Georgia. Judge Reeves called council member and pro-tem mayor Terry Eady to testify.

Prior to the hearing, Whipple-Lue's attorney, Wayne Kendall, emailed the plaintiff's lawyer, Delvin Cooper, informing them that he and his client would not be present in today's hearing.

41NBC's Taylor Terrell is in court today and will have more on 41NBC News at 6.
