MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - 41NBC is continuing our Holiday Miracles with the story of a single mother of four who was struggling to give her kids the best possible Christmas this year. Daybreak anchors Amanda Castro and Melissa Lee surprised the McCrary family who believe God's blessing spirit helped put smiles on her children's faces.
"Hello, my name is Felicia McCrary. I'm a single mother of four children," Felicia said as she was reading the letter she wrote to 41NBC.
A single mother of four who was struggling to pay the bills and provide for her family.
"Being a single is hard. Every penny, every dime...I have bills to pay. I do what I can to maintain. Keep smiles on their faces, food in their stomachs, and somewhere warm to walk into this cold weather," she said.
She had one Christmas wish this year.
"I would love for my kids to have a wonderful Christmas."
That is why she wrote to 41NBC.
"I was watching the news one morning and it popped up," Felicia said. "The girl said that was the last day it has to be post stamped in the mail that day so I was like it got to be God telling me go ahead and send this letter in and maybe you can get help."
41NBC's staff read Felicia's letter and wanted to help. We brought a little Christmas cheer to her and her kids. 41NBC brought the McCrary family clothes, bicycles, board games, and baby dolls. All in the hopes to see 10-year-old A'Dacion, 9-year-old Jyreece, 7-year-old Kaniyla, and 5-year-old Kamorra smile this Christmas. It is what Felicia calls God's blessing.
"Like I say, he's right on time. He knows what you need. He won't give it to you until its right on time for you," she said.
For Felicia, it is more about more than just the gifts under the tree, it's seeing her kids' faces light up this Christmas.
"This is going to keep a smile on their face and I really appreciate it, I really do."
God keeps on blessing the McCrary family. Felicia recently got a job and is going back to school.
