Georgia author explores the phenomenon of NASCAR in new book

Townsend decided to explore the world of racing after she realized she didn't know anything about it and wanted to change that. She went to several NASCAR races during the 2013 race season and met many people who helped her learn the ropes of NASCAR.

She said she had no idea what she was getting herself into. In her book, she talks about her experience of learning the sport in a way that novice NASCAR fans to devoted fans will enjoy.
