MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GC ATHLETICS RELEASE) – The Georgia College men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the signing of Juwan Hubbard Thursday.

Hubbard, a 6-foot point guard, comes to Georgia College from Carl Sandburg College in Carthage, Ill. The Chargers won their first Region IV District A Tournament in 2014 to advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time in program history.

“Juwan is a great addition to our program,” said Sellers. “We saw him play at the NJCAA Tournament in Danville. He has the ability to get to the rim and finish with contact and also possesses a nice 15-foot jumper. Juwan will also contribute with rebounds and defend well from the point guard position. We felt like the point guard position was our top priority in the recruiting process.”

Hubbard averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game as a sophomore. In addition, he led the NJCAA (Division II) in free throw attempts (303) this past season. CSC finished its season 18-16 under head coach Ryan Twaddle.

Prior to GSC, Hubbard graduated from Rockford Guilford High in Rockford, Ill.

The Bobcats finished the 2013-14 season with a 10-16 mark, landing three on the PBC All-Academic Team, the most for a single season in program history.
