Gainous takes over as Georgia College men's hoops coach

Longtime Bobcat assistant coach Mark Gainous is the newest men's basketball coach at Georgia College.
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Mark Gainous is the new head men's basketball coach at Georgia College.  Gainous, an 11-year assistant to coach Terry Sellers, takes the reigns a week after Sellers announced his retirement after 21 years with school.

Don't expect big changes on the court though, says Gainous.  While he may add in "a few" wrinkles, he plans to stick with what he's learned coaching under Sellers.

During his time as an assistant, the Bobcats have gone 177-131, including four 20-win seasons.  The team picked up a Peach Belt Conference regular season title in 2006-06 and earned three trips to the NCAA Tournament, including a Sweet 16 run in 2006.

The Bobcats went 10-16 last season.
