FPD Hosts Social Media Conference for Parents

Social media is everywhere. Kids are tweeting, Instagramming, Facebooking, Snapchatting, and participating in all kinds of social sites. They're also starting a young age. Beth Bumsed and Kathleen Gettman from First Presbyterian Day School stopped by Daybreak to tell us about an upcoming conference to help parents keep up with this social media world.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Social media is everywhere. Kids are tweeting, Instagramming, Facebooking, Snapchatting, and participating in all kinds of social sites. They're also starting a young age. Beth Bumsed and Kathleen Gettman from First Presbyterian Day School stopped by Daybreak to tell us about an upcoming conference to help parents keep up with this social media world.

Bumsed and Gettman said the all the social media apps and the terminology that goes with them, it can be hard for parents to keep up. To help them, FPD is hosting a social media conference.

Gettman said Emily Hodge, the Interim Director of the University of Georgia Educational Technology Center, is the featured speaker. There will also be a panel of FPD students.

The social media conference for parents is Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the FPD Clark Fine Arts Center. The event is free. Go to www.fpdmacon.org to submit your own questions.
