MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The weather is warming up and so are small businesses! Business expert and entrepreneur Troy Hazard stopped by Daybreak to share some tips to spruce up and refresh your business, just in time for summer.
Hazard said customers can go into hibernation during the winter months if you let them. Tips for future-proofing your business that will “spring” your business into action include the following:
Create a culture of conscious change—Hazard said as the seasons change, so should business owners. If you know your business is not busy, then compensate for that by changing how you do business when the times are busy and slow.
Feel it out versus figuring it out—Hazard said leading your business is more about feel it it out as oppose to figuring it out. He said it is an “awareness.”
Manage the money you've made—Get into a financial rhythm in your business.
Take responsibility and learn—He suggests business owners learn from their past mistakes so they don't repeat them.
Don't wait—Hazard said you shouldn't wait until summer to fix something. Instead, fix it now.
