DECISION 2013: District 8 Candidate Jones Wants to Continue Serving People

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Charles Jones says he's running for a seat on the new Macon-Bibb County government so he can continue doing what he's been doing for more than four decades.

"I've been a servant of people. I've been making difficult decisions. I've been moving to make the city of Macon better," said Jones.

He calls himself a responsible and respectful leader who gets along well with a lot of different people.

Jones talked about how his experience on Macon city council has prepared him to deal with whatever comes his way, specifically he mentioned the little things that pop up when you're running a city.

"I've got the knowledge, I''ve got the training... and I've learned how not to fight,"said Jones.

He wants to focus on economic development in District 8. He said the new government needs to get more people downtown, to get new businesses downtown.

He's got a very specific attitude he'll bring to the new government.

"One thing I've come to realize is this. It is not I, it's we. It's not I win, it's we win,"said Jones.

Jones promises to make the citizens proud. If elected, he welcomes anyone to knock on his door if you're not happy with what's going on.
