FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - A man from Conyers has been killed in a three-vehicle accident on I-75 around 11p.m. last night, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
42-year-old Christopher Vesely was driving northbound on the interstate in a Lincoln Towncar, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The Towncar veered into another lane of traffic and was struck by a tractor trailer. The collision caused the vehicle to crash into a median wall, and then hit by another tractor trailer. This caused the car to become pinned in between the two trucks.
Vesely was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the GBI crime lab in Atlanta.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, though deputies at the scene stated the road was wet due to recent rains. It wasn't raining at the moment the collision occurred.
Several lanes of traffic on I-75 were blocked off until around 1a.m. as the wreckage was being cleared.
