Central Beats Westside 57-56 After Freshman Hits Late Free Throws

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The Central Chargers stormed back Tuesday night at Westside High School to beat the Seminoles 57-56 after trailing by as much as six points late in the fourth quarter.

Down 56-55 with eight seconds left, freshman Terry McCoy hit two free throws to give Central (4-2) the lead.  Westside (3-5) had two shot attempts as the clock wound down, but both fell short.

"To hit those free throws, that's big," says Andre Taylor, in his 12th season as Central's coach.   "Especially when we haven't been hitting free throws well this year, for him to step up there and tell us before he went out there, 'Coach, I got it coach. I'm going to make them,' to have that confidence in himself as a freshman, that was wonderful."
