Byron Police investigating possible murder after anonymous phone call

Byron Police Chief Wesley Cannon says Ratavius Canions greeted police by telling them his girlfriend is dead.
BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Police found a woman dead inside her living room on the corner of Boy Scout Road and Martin Luther King Drive in Byron Friday afternoon.

20-year-old Destiny Clark was found dead at her apartment in Project 2.

According to Chief Wesley Cannon, police received an anonymous phone call stating there had been a "murder in Byron."

After arriving at the apartment, Ratavius Canions came out, saying he and his girlfriend had gotten into a fight and she was now dead.

He did not say how or why.

He had scratches on his face.

Paramedics and the coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating the cause of death.

Chief Cannon said investigators have no leads at this time, and any charges would be based on the outcome of the investigation.
