Blue Bell Releases Magic Cookie Bar, Lets You Bring Back Past Flavors

For National Ice Cream Month, Blue Bell releases its new flavor.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- During the hot summer months, a cold scoop of ice cream can really hit the spot.  Well, wouldn't you know it: July is National Ice Cream Month! 30 years ago, to be exact, was when President Reagan designated it as such.  And every year, Blue Bell Creameries releases a new flavor.  This year, that flavor is the Magic Ice Cream Bar.  Its ingredients? Graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut and chopped walnuts or pecans.  Amanda and Marco tried out the new flavor (for science!) and were quizzed by Blue Bell's David Smith on their ice cream know-how.

David also talked about the "Crankin' Back the Flavor" contest that begins August 1st.  To participate, you must be a member of the Blue Bell Country Club, which is free to register online.  You'll be able to vote on which Blue Bell Ice Cream flavor of the past should be reintroduced in 2015.  In 2012, fans voted for the Caramel Turtle Cheesecake, which became part of the Blue Bell flavor lineup in 2013.  You'll have 16 flavors from which to choose.  Blue Bell Country Club members can vote once a day from a registered E-Mail address.  Each week the four flavors with the least votes will be eliminated.  The winning flavor will be announced in September.

If Marco votes, no doubt he'll be biased toward the chocolate flavors!
