Bibb sheriff speaks out on recent corruption incident

Sheriff David Davis says he won't tolerate corruption on the task force.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff David Davis says he won’t tolerate corruption in the task force.

His remarks come after four Bibb County deputies face federal corruption charges.

The Bibb County Sheriffs Office, and members from the F.B.I. found deputies Jimmy Denson, Arthur Howard, Decarlo Latimore and Jermaine Hill were violating their oath of office through a fellow officer.

Davis says the incident has potential to damage the credibility of the department, and public trust, but he hopes to community will see investigators are doing what they can to follow up on the incident.

He wants the community to know: that they can be proud that once we did get an indication that our officers were involved in wrong doing, we investigated and took action."

Denson, Howard and Latimore are all charge with attempted extortion. Hill is charged with theft of government money and making false statements.
