MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff's Office worked with several federal agencies to arrest 16 of 22 people wanted in connection with a racketeer influenced and corrupt organization.
The sheriff's office worked with the United States Secret Service, Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Investigators say 41-year-old Denise Krieger of Macon stole “countless” identities and credit card information from victims all over the country. According to a news release, Krieger and other co-conspirators allegedly used that information to fund inmates' accounts at the Bibb County jail.
Deputies say several of the suspects involved are affiliated with the “Crips” street gang. Investigators say all of the people who were involved “assisted, participated, and/or received fraudulent funds.”
The sheriff's office along with the federal agencies obtained a total of 22 arrest warrants and two search warrants as a result of this investigation.
Sheriff David Davis said, "This is an example of the various types of crimes that some street gangs commit. Macon-Bibb and every community affected by these accused gangsters is better off now that they are being brought to justice. It is through partnerships with federal, state and local authorities that Bibb deputies are more able to investigate complex and far reaching criminal activities. The recent prostitution arrests and these arrests are great examples of this cooperation at work.”
43-year-old Demetria Davis, 27-year-old Tiffany Londy, 34-year-old Christopher Bilow, 30-year-old Valerie Gradymiller, 33-year-old Shenita Harris 34-year-old Latoya Solomon are still at large.
This is an on-going investigation. The sheriff's office expects to make more arrests.
